Drill room

Chart drill

The driver is rarely in the title of the exhibit.

The room is a clock, a prompt, and a score. The method below is what Ned grades. Free accounts get a daily window.

How to structure it

  1. Read the question. What decision is the exhibit supposed to change?
  2. Title last. The driver is rarely in the chart title. Look at units, the footnote, the biggest $ swing.
  3. One so-what. Name the largest bar or the kink, in dollars, then the implication.
BrightTrail P&L
Revenue rose from $100m to $107m and operating profit from $24m to $26m. I am not reading every cell. Volume added $5.2m but price leakage gave back $1.6m, so I want retailer-level promotion returns next.

Usual miss. Narrating every row. That is a tour, not an exhibit read.
