How recruiting actually feels at INSEAD
It feels like two clocks. January and August/September intakes each hit a recruiting burst early. There is a second burst later in the year for people who missed or switched. If you treat INSEAD like a two-year school and wait for a quiet winter, you will miss the first gate.
Fontainebleau is not Paris. Singapore is a regional hub. You may recruit for Europe, Asia, the Middle East, or a mix. Language, work authorization, and office preference are the actual strategy, not "INSEAD is global" as a slogan. A Singapore-based burst is not the same coffee-chat market as a Paris office day trip. How to use the INSEAD consulting club without under-drilling
The club will fill every gap in a ten-month calendar if you let it.
- Treat club cases as exams: one leak written down, drilled the next morning.
- Mix McKinsey interviewer-led and candidate-led from week one. European and Asian first rounds are not one format.
- Use campus geography: if you are in Fontainebleau, do not pretend you can casually stack Paris coffees every evening. If you are in Singapore, be precise about office and pass constraints.

Four weeks before the first burst (including pre-program)
This is not a US first-year autumn block. Start it in the month before you matriculate, then overlap the first campus weeks. The second burst gets a shorter refresh, not a first learning cycle. Week 2 — Format split before arrival or in week one. Interviewer-led and candidate-led on alternating days.
